No-exam life insurance
Which applicants qualify, how fast decisions happen, and what takes place if you cannot qualify.
Most carriers now use accelerated underwriting: qualified applicants under certain age and benefit limits get decisions from applications, prescription records, driving history, and other records instead of medical exams. Some give yes or no the same day. Each quote on this site notes whether an exam is required, maybe required, or not.
What it changes
Skipping the exam is not the same as skipping underwriting. Your answers are checked; a policy based on incorrect information can be challenged for two years. If underwriting finds issues, the carrier may still require an exam or labs; you choose whether to continue.
Who tends to qualify
Usually applicants under 60 seeking amounts within the carrier's accelerated bracket, with no major medical history and no tobacco use for a year or longer. Recent medical work and blood work from a doctor visit may satisfy some carriers in place of a new exam.
Exams, when needed, are usually 20 to 30 minutes with a paramedic at your home or workplace in the Twentynine Palms area, at no charge. Healthy applicants often see their rate class improve as a result, so the exam is not always a drawback.
